Former World No 1 Lee Westwood has surprisingly ended his 24-year association with Chubby Chandler’s International Sports Management (ISM) group.
Westwood (44), who has 43 career victories worldwide and was World No 1 in 2010 and 2011, has had no other manager than the group owned and operated by Chandler during his professional career.
Westwood and close friend Darren Clarke, the 2011 Open champion, have been the cornerstones of Chandler’s management stable throughout the last three decades. Rory McIlroy and Ernie Els have been clients of ISM in the past and last year’s Masters champion Danny Willett is a currently part of the group.
Westwood has appeared in 10 Ryder Cups for Europe and been on the winning side a record seven times. He relocated in the last 18 months to Edinburgh to be closer to his two children after he and his Scottish wife Laurae separated.
Other than confirming the split had occurred, ISM would make no further comment.
