Ronnie O’Sullivan says he will play in next month’s Scottish Open after missing the tournament last year.
O’Sullivan, 42, withdrew from last year’s Glasgow event less than 24 hours after winning the UK Championship.
The Englishman, who won the Scottish Open in 1998 and 2000 when it was held in Aberdeen, said he would play at Glasgow’s Emirates Arena this time around.
At an exhibition event at Shotz in Arbroath, O’Sullivan said: “My sponsor sponsors the tournament, 19.com. I haven’t got to play in it but out of loyalty for them I will play in it.”
Last year, Daniel Wells was due to face the five-time world champion but O’Sullivan opted against the trip north after defeating Mark Allen 10-6 in York to move on to 19 World, UK and Masters trophies.
This year’s event in Glasgow runs from December 9 to 16.
