Fife Flyers could not match their 9-5 home victory over Belfast Giants in February and bowed out of the Elite League play-offs with a 1-4 scoreline in Kirkcaldy.
Former player Matt Nickerson scored Giants’ opener after 11 minutes, but Ryan Dingle levelled in the 24th minute.
Blair Riley, after 35 minutes, and Chris Higgins four minutes later, plus a second from Riley after 44 minutes, made sure.
Fife went ahead in Belfast on Saturday through Seb Thinel after 15 minutes but were then hit with three straight goals. Steve Saviano opened Giants’ account after 30 minutes, with Chris Higgins scoring the go-ahead goal less than a minute later.
Derrick Walser made it 3-1 five minutes later, then Chase Schaber pulled one back after 44 minutes.
Walser completed the scoring with less than two minutes left.
