Dundee-born tennis starlet Charlie Robertson has been named Junior Player of the Year by Tennis Scotland.
The annual awards ceremony also saw Tayside-based Alessia Palmieri awarded the Development Coach of the Year at the bash in Stirling last week.
Scotland’s tennis community descended on the Stirling Court Hotel to celebrate the achievements of 2022.
And 16-year-old Robertson picked up one of the most prestigious awards.
The Dundee-born player trained at David Lloyd Dundee and Arbroath Tennis Club growing up but is now part of the Great Britain National Tennis Academy in Stirling.
Another title on the ITF junior circuit for 🏴 Charlie Robertson, this time in Dominican Republic. He moves up to 67 in the world junior rankings which should get him into @rolandgarros boys singles qualifying event 👌. Nice one Charlie and coaches Mark, Marko and Noëlle. 💪 pic.twitter.com/eyUysw9f2V

In 2022 he won his first International Tennis Federation title in 2022 as well as two junior titles and has moved up to No 67 in the world junior rankings.
And has now been named Tennis Scotland’s Junior Player of the Year.
He is currently playing in a tournament in Tunisia and has knocked out Japan’s Ryuichiro Nakano and France’s Paul Cayre to set up a clash with China’s Zhan Zheng.
Alessia Palmieri
Palmieri, meanwhile, is a full-time coach at Fossoway Tennis Club near Kinross and the Adam Brown Tennis Academy in Bridge of Allan.
And the Development Coach of the Year award is reward for the hours put in developing young tennis players.
In 2022, Palmieri established an after-school and weekend programme for kids of all ages.
Dundee-based Fabian Haut was also up for the Volunteer of the Year award.
