Dundee mixed martial arts fighter Scott Malone has had the door opened to a title fight against champion Jack Shore.
Malone triumphed in his latest battle at the Cage Warriors 100 event in Cardiff on Saturday night, beating home favourite Josh Reed by a submission (arm-bar) in the first round.
His success could earn him a contest against Welsh star Shore, who beat Mike Ekundayo in the main event.
Malone, nicknamed “Boom Boom,” feels he deserves a shot and would love it to be in his homeland this time.
He said: “I hope it will come around.
“In Scotland would be ideal.
“I would be disappointed If I didn’t get it because I think I deserve it.
“Scottish MMA is absolutely booming and it would be a sell-out.”
Shore gave Malone some encouragement that it could go ahead, declaring: “I will fight anybody.
“I don’t get paid for match-making I get paid to fight so if they want me to fight Scott I will fight Scott.”
