Dancing On Ice has confirmed that the 2020 contestants will first be seen on the ice in a Christmas special.
The ice-skating show returns to ITV next year with stars such as TV presenter Trisha Goddard, Love Islander Maura Higgins, Michael Barrymore and Steps’ Ian “H” Watkins taking part.
They will be seen on the ice for the first time in a festive special, Dancing On Ice At Christmas.
The one-off Christmas extravaganza will feature a performance from judges and ice legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, as well as routines from Dancing On Ice’s alumni such as Ray Quinn and Jake Quickenden.
The show has also announced the line-up of professional skaters who will be pairing up with the celebrities.
Series stalwart Matt Evers, who has appeared in every series since the show launched on ITV in 2006, is returning, as are series favourites Brianne Delcourt, Mark Hanretty, Hamish Gaman, Vanessa Bauer and Alex Murphy.
Last year’s champion Alexandra Schauman, who won with James Jordan, is back alongside husband Lukasz Rozycki. Fellow husband and wife team Alexander Demetriou and Carlotta Edwards will also return to the ice.
However, it appears that Sylvain Longchambon will not have a permanent partner in the show’s new run.
The show said he and Patti Quinn would appear in select group numbers.
New additions to the line-up are doctor and orthopaedic surgeon Tom Naylor and Disney On Ice performer Brendyn Hatfield. Hatfield’s wife Jessica will also feature in the line-up as reserve skater,
Torvill and Dean and Ashley Banjo will be joined on the judging panel by John Barrowman, following the departure of Jason Gardiner.
The series will once again be fronted by TV duo Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
