Ed Sheeran has nearly doubled his wealth over the past year to become the richest young British star.
The Shape Of You singer, 28, has topped Heat magazine’s annual guide to the UK and Ireland’s wealthiest stars aged 30 and under, having jumped from an estimated worth of £94 million in 2017 to £170 million.
Sheeran, who was in second place last year, has taken fellow music star Adele’s position at the top of the list as she turned 31 in May.
The increase in Sheeran’s wealth is partly due to his world record breaking, highest-grossing two-year Divide Tour, which saw him play more than 250 shows to more than seven million fans since March 2017.
In addition, Sheeran’s songwriting efforts have helped him to shift 150 million records across the world for both himself and other artists including Justin Bieber, Anne-Marie and Rita Ora, bringing him substantial royalties.
Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, 30, is at number two with an estimated wealth of £90 million, the majority of which comes from his decade playing the boy wizard in the hit film franchise.
In third place in One Direction star Harry Styles, 25, who has an estimated fortune of £64 million.
Head and shoulders above his boy band co-stars, Styles’ financial gains are largely down to his solo career, which saw him earn an estimated £12 million from his 2017/2018 world tour, as well as a reported £8 million deal as a Gucci ambassador.
The rest of the top 10 largely includes Styles’ One Direction bandmates, with Niall Horan, 26, in fifth place (£54.8 million), Louis Tomlinson, 27, in seventh place (£46 million), Liam Payne, 26, in eighth place (£44 million) and former band member Zayn Malik, 26, at number 10 (£38 million).
Radcliffe’s Harry Potter co-star Emma Watson, 29, in fourth place with an estimated fortune of £57 million and Little Mix, who are in sixth place, have a combined worth of £50 million.
Supermodel and actress Cara Delevingne, 27, is in ninth place with her overall worth believed to be £39.5 million.
The highest new entry on the list this year is grime artist Stormzy at number 14 with an estimated £12 million, following the 26-year-old’s debut Glastonbury headline set this summer.
Other new entries include singer-songwriter Dua Lipa, 24, who is in 15th place (£11.8 million), Game Of Thrones actress Maisie Williams, 22, in at 25th place (£4.5 million) and music stars George Ezra, 26, and Jess Glynne, 30, in joint 27th place, both with an estimated wealth of £4.4 million.
Heat has also ranked the most bankable Love Island stars from this year’s series, based on their social media posts, commercial fashion deals, TV presenter roles and lucrative personal appearances since rising to fame in the ITV2 series in the summer.
Amber Gill, 22, is listed as the most successful, having not only won the series but also for landing a £1 million deal with online retailer MissPap.
In second place is Molly-Mae Hague, 20, followed by her partner Tommy Fury, 20, in third place, while Curtis Pritchard, 23, and Maura Higgins, 28, are in fourth and fifth place respectively.
Keeping Up With The Kardashians star and make-up mogul Kylie Jenner, 22, has been named the world’s wealthiest young star under the age of 30, with £736 million to her name.
