Spain has been a haven for sun and fun seekers for many years and it seems our love affair with Spain is still going strong. Its popularity never wanes and it’s easy to see why.

Depending on which region or resort you choose, you’ll find everything you need for that well-earned break in Spain’s glorious sunshine. The choices these days have become fairly obvious. Ibiza is renowned as the party island and in high season can be pretty hedonistic.

The Costas and Canaries, along with Majorca and Menorca are pretty safe bets for family fun for all ages. The cities are a must for culture vultures, art and architecture buffs.

They also offer a fabulous range of shopping with many designer labels gracing the city streets. Golf is a popular sport in Spain and with over 300 courses; it’s a bit of a golfers paradise.

Here’s a quick guide to Spain’s regions to help you choose:-

Mainland Spain: The clacking of a flamenco dancer’s castanets, a red flash of a Matador’s cape, the smell of chorizo and paella wafting from a backstreet tapas bar. Spain is an assault on the senses, whichever resort you choose. Some of Europe’s most vibrant and beautiful cities can be found on the Spanish Mainland. Don’t miss Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Valencia and Granada.

The Costas: Spain’s coastline has been drawing tourists for decades and are still a popular choice today. In the north there’s the golden beaches of the Costa Dorada. Head south for the popular Costa del Sol, Costa Almeria and Costa de la Luz, or top up your tan on the Costa Blanca’s white sands.

The Balearics: Just off the east coast of the mainland are the Balearic Islands. Majorca’s great for families, Ibiza, known as the party island is a clubber’s heaven, and Menorca offers up a low-key vibe, picturesque harbour and pretty villages.

The Canaries: Spain’s other big draw is the famous Canary Islands. Choose from the big four Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Tenerife and Fuerteventura or venture into lesser-known La Palma.
