Alan Carr, Miranda Hart, Philip Glenister and Sue Perkins will join Saunders on-screen in the sketch. It comes 10 years after the stars featured in a Mamma Mia! parody for Red Nose Day. Miranda Hart will also appear in the parody (Yui Mok/PA) Saunders will reprise her role as Meryl Streep’s movie alter-ego Donna, Carr as Colin Firth’s Harry and Glenister as Pierce Brosnan’s Sam. Dawn French, who appeared in the original TV sketch, was not available to make the sequel. The skit will pay tribute to last summer’s hit film Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. The stars will recreate “memorable moments from the (film) sequel and even attempt to sing some of Abba’s most iconic songs”. Philip Glenister (Ian West/PA) Saunders said: “If I could have lived on the fake Mamma Mia! set for the last year, I would have been very happy. “So I am very, very, very happy to be back. This is undoubtedly one of the silliest things I’ve done. But my god I enjoy it so much.” The BBC said more big names will be announced. The sketch will premiere on BBC One during Red Nose Day on March 15.
