Mark Ronson has credited Amy Winehouse with making him the man he is on International Women’s Day.
The producer and songwriter has paid tribute to the late British star and thanked her for playing a crucial role in his life.
Ronson, who has now added an Oscar win to his vast list of awards, has taken the time to thank the women who helped him reach the heights he has.
In a series of images hosted on Twitter, the star has honoured Winehouse alongside Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Lily Allen and Adele among others.
He posted: “These are a few of the amazing women who have made me who I am … personally, professionally, emotionally, spiritually.
“I would be half the person (maybe less) that I am today without them. Happy International Women’s Day everyone.”
Lenny Kravitz has joined the celebrations on the day celebrating female accomplishments and empowerment, suggesting that power should be handed over to women in place of men for the good of the world.
He posted on Twitter, saying: “It’s time to turn it over to women. Men had their chance to run the world and look where we are.”
Former England international David Beckham has also honoured the women in his life, including wife Victoria and daughter Harper, alongside a message of celebration.
He wrote on Instagram: “Today we celebrate International Women’s Day. I’m so blessed to have these amazing women in my life, they inspire me every single day. Happy International Women’s Day to all the inspirational women around the world.”
