Dundee motorbike fans have raised almost £1000 to fund the rest of the season’s entry fees for an eight-year-old Angus girl who has caused a stir in Scottish motocross circles.
Ciara Robertson, from Hillside, near Montrose, has enjoyed a successful start to the season in which she has been competing against Scotland’s fastest youngsters on her 50cc bike.
Ciara has finished on the podium in every race so fara, prompting the Dundee Bikers Forum, of which she is the youngest member, to group together and help.
Their efforts totalled just under £1000 which will pay for Ciara’s fees for the rest of the year, including the national meeting at Gloucester in September, where she will race the fastest girls in the world.
The youngster came second in the event last year and has been training hard with the aim of going one better this year.
