Mercedes’ facelifted CL-Class coupe will go on sale in September, three years after the car’s introduction.
The Bentley Continental rival gets some minor styling tweaks to its conservative profile, including new bumpers, daytime running lights, reshaped headlights and a more contoured bonnet.
The biggest changes go on underneath the surface, where there’s a new 4.6 litre twin-turbo V8 producing 429bhp.
It replaces the non turbo 5.5 litre unit and knocks half a second off the car’s 0-62mph time, bringing it below five seconds.
Thanks to the new engine, revisions to the seven-speed auto gearbox, stop-start system and brake regeneration, fuel economy increases 6.mpg to 29.7mpg, with CO2 emissions of 224g/km.
No word yet on cost, but expect a bit of a hike from the £88,325 entry price for the current model.
