Recently-troubled Swedish car maker Saab’s new 9-5 will cost from £26,495 to £37,995 when it hits UK showrooms in the summer.
Once more in a position to build new cars, thanks to an 11th-hour rescue bid by Dutch supercar maker Spyker, order books for the company’s flagship saloon have opened.
At launch it’ll be offered with three engines: a 160bhp 2.0 litre diesel, and 2.0 and 2.8 litre petrol units generating 220bhp and 300bhp.
All engines will be linked to six-speed gearboxes, and a 190bhp diesel and 180bhp 1.6 litre petrol will join the range when the new ’60’ plates come out in September.
Options will include an aircraft-style heads-up information display, digital radio and Saab’s XWD all-wheel-drive system.
