Nissan’s Juke will cost from £12,795 when it goes on sale in September. Sitting underneath the Murano and Qashqai in Nissan’s crossover family, the funky little Juke will be almost exclusively front-wheel drive, with only the top-of-the-range version getting four driven wheels.
It will be offered with three choices of engines a 115bhp 1.6 litre petrol, a 1.5dCi turbo diesel with 108bhp and a ‘hot’ 1.6 litre turbocharged petrol version with 187bhp.
The diesel costs £1400 more than the petrol, and the turbo starts at £15,695.
All Jukes come with 16-inch alloy wheels, ESP, six airbags and air conditioning.
Acenta versions carry a £1000 premium and add 17-inch alloys, climate control, Bluetooth with USB connectivity and Nissan’s Dynamic Control System for, well, controlling stuff. Dynamically.
The top-of-the-range Tekna models get leather seats, Nissan Connect (a combined sat nav and stereo control system), a reversing camera and various other odds and ends for an extra £2000.
Customers who can’t afford the Tekna model can upgrade their Acenta version with a £300 sport pack (17-inch alloys, rear privacy glass and premium cloth seats) or the £900 premium pack (Nissan Connect, reversing camera, six speakers, plus the stuff in the sport pack).
Two-wheel-drive versions of the Juke will be built at Nissan’s plant in Sunderland, with only the four-wheel drive model being made in Japan. Performance, fuel economy and other technical details will be released in a few weeks’ time.
