Enthusiasts gather in St Andrews for a Triumph Stag do

St Andrews has hosted members of the Stag Owners Club (SOC) who are helping commemorate 40 years of iconic car the Triumph Stag.
A UK tour has been organised by the SOC to celebrate the milestone but only one special member of the club will make the trip in its entirety.
SOCrates is the SOC’s furry mascot and, appropriately, a cuddly toy stag.
He has been passed from region to region through the SOC’s membership and has had his picture taken at well-known attractions along the way.
As his whirlwind tour around Britain continued on Tuesday, he was taken to the home of golf by Aberdonian Malcolm McDougall, where he was handed over and pictured by the 17th hole of the Old Course.
Mr McDougall made his way to Fife in his red 1976 Triumph Stag to meet local man Peter Rieu-Clarke, who owns a 1977 Mk II Stag.
Mr Rieu-Clarke later drove to Stirling to deliver SOCrates to the west of Scotland regional members.
SOCrates has visited many places on the tour, expected to end in August, and reports can be seen at www.stag40.wordpress.com.
