A new creature, and master of deceit, has gone on show at Deep Sea World in North Queensferry.
The visitor attraction has just put a group of rare Vietnamese mossy frogs on display.
The bizarre-looking frogs, which are only seven centimetres long, were bred last March at the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust in Jersey.
Deep Sea World staff are hoping that, once mature, the frogs will form their own captive breeding programme at the aquarium.
The frogs are renowned for their camouflage, which is thought to be among the most elaborate in the animal kingdom.
Deep Sea World’s Chris Smith said, “Their green and black bodies are covered with bumps and spines and mean they can blend in perfectly with clumps of moss or lichen.”
