Are you The Courier’s next Local Artist of the Year?

We are inviting our readers to show off their artistic skills!

We want you to draw, sketch or paint your favourite thing in the world.

This could be anything at all – from an important person in your life, a beloved pet, a local landmark you love to visit or even your favourite hobby or prized possession!

We want you to draw what you love and to tell us briefly why it is so special to you.

This competition is open to amateur artists in our local area and there are three categories:

  1. Primary School age group
  2. Secondary School age group
  3. 18 and over (no upper age limit)

Once we have everyone’s artwork, we will create special supplements which will be printed in paper – showcasing your artistic talents!

A representative from The McManus will help us to judge each category and there will also be a chance for our readers to vote for their favourite piece of artwork with some fantastic prizes up for grabs.

Our three category winners and our reader’s choice winner will each receive the following prizes:

  • Workshop with The McManus: Dundee’s Art Gallery & Museum
  • £200 Cash
  • Courier Local Artist of the year Winner’s Trophy
  • Canvas print of winning entry

Once you have your artwork ready, simply take a photo of this and submit it along with your full details below. Any queries please contact comps@thecourier.co.uk

We will also feature all entries in an online gallery on our website.

The deadline for entries is Friday August 12 2022
