Elderly man dies in bin lorry accident on Kinross High Street

An 80-year-old man has died in a tragic accident in Kinross this morning.
The man died after being involved in a collision with a bin lorry on the High Street at about 7am.
Police say emergency services were quickly in attendance but the elderly man was confirmed dead at the scene. His details will not be released until next of kin have been fully informed.
No one else was injured in the incident.
Kinross High Street has been closed while the accident is investigated. Diversions are in place via Station Roadand Swansacre. However, there is still access to local shops and businesses.
Police are asking any witnesses who have not already spoken to officers to call 0300 111 2222.
A police spokesman confirmed a full report on the incident will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.See Saturday’s Courier for more
