Two Romanian members of an organised shoplifting gang have admitted stealing mobile phones worth a four-figure sum in Dundee and Perth on Saturday.
Maradona Constantin (22) and Nicu Marin (43), both Newcastle, admitted that on May 26 at Vodafone, Murraygate, Dundee, they stole mobile telephones.
Constantin also admitted stealing a mobile phone from Barnett’s, Riverside Drive, Dundee, on the same date.
Marin admitted that, on the same date, at T Mobile in High Street, Perth, he stole a mobile phone.
Depute fiscal Donna Davidson told the court the pair were believed to be part of an organised gang which travels up and down the country shoplifting.
Sheriff Sanderson deferred sentence for reports until June 21 and told them the high value of the goods, along with the fact they both already had previous convictions from crimes in England, meant she would remand them in custody.
