Scottish sausage skin manufacturer Devro has reported a second quarter of growing sales, with demand for the company’s products showing signs of improvement.
The firm’s interim management statement yesterday was well received by the City, with the company’s shares closing more than 6% higher.
The company which has its HQ in Moodiesburn, near Glasgow, said trading continued in line with expectations and the outlook for the full year is unchanged.
The growing sales volumes had been most notable in China, Japan and Germany, and inventory was reducing as expected.
Major investment projects in China and the USA were both proceeding to plan.
The first phase of the restructuring of Scottish operations was completed in August, and the second phase will conclude at the end of the first quarter of next year.
