Tributes have poured in for a family doctor who has died suddenly.
Dawson Mennie, 37, who suffered from diabetes, is understood to have died in his sleep at his home in Deanston, Stirling.
Police are treating the death as unexplained but say there are no suspicious circumstances and a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
Dr Mennie worked as a GP at Park Avenue Medical Practice in Stirling.
He was originally from Banchory and studied at Aberdeen University.
His wife, Mhairi, is a nurse at Leny Practice in Callandar and he was a devoted dad to their son Harris, 3, and baby daughter Robyn.
Dr Mennie’s colleagues were stunned by his death. In a statement issued on behalf of the surgery, they said: “We were shocked and saddened to learn of Dr Mennie’s death.
“He will be greatly missed by colleagues and patients and we would ask that the privacy of his family and friends is respected at this difficult time.”
Several tributes to Dr Mennie have been posted on his wife’s Facebook page.
Scott Halfyard, one of his best friends at primary school, said: “I’m so sorry to hear this and my thoughts are with you and the wee ones.
“I can’t offer anything other than supportive words but I trust Dawson became a great man, a loving husband and brilliant dad.
“Remember the quality times as I’m sure he has given you so many cherished memories.”
A service of thanksgiving for Dr Mennie’s life will be held in Dunblane Cathedral on Monday at 11.15am.
