The numbers six and two have added up to a whole lot of trouble for Dundee FC mascot Deewok.
The bear, who patrols the touchlines during matches at Dens Park, wears the number 62 on the back of his shirt to celebrate the Dark Blues’ famous championship win of 1961-62.
But after the side’s televised loss to Celtic in the Scottish Cup on Saturday, fans of rivals Dundee United have been revelling in the fact that the number can also be seen to refer to the New Year’s Day derby which saw the Tangerines romp to a 6-2 win.
The coincidence has sparked a flurry of mocking posts on social media, including this from United fan Paul Lunan on Twitter:
