A family touched by leukaemia has raised £5000 for Tayside Children with Cancer and Leukaemia with a charity dinner.
Mike and Gail Forbes’ son Cameron, now 21, was diagnosed with the disease at the age of seven and the couple have been involved with the charity ever since.
Although Cameron has now recovered, Mrs Forbes said they organised the February event at the Forbes of Kingennie Country Resort because it was still important to support the charity.
On the night, they held an auction that included such prizes as a day’s fishing with television personality Paul Young, and a trip to Barcelona to take in a game of football at the Nou Camp stadium.
Gaye Steele from Tayside Children with Cancer and Leukaemia accepted the cheque on the charity’s behalf.
Mrs Forbes said, “We’ve been involved with the charity for 14 years…They do some fantastic work and many people give up a lot of their spare time to help families.”
