Golfers have raised a six-figure sum to help fight leukaemia in memory of a woman who died of the disease aged 28.
She died in Ninewells in December 2008, just three days after being diagnosed.
Lynn Forrest’s parents Catherine and Charles Forrest, of Colinsburgh, held the charity tournament at Charleton Golf Club in aid of the charity, Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. About 200 participants raised £9000 for Lynn’s Forget-Me-Not Fund.
Catherine said the event was a tremendous success, adding, “We really appreciate the support of businesses and individuals who helped make this event such a success and help to fund vital research and treatment for this terrible disease.
Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research is marking 50 years of making great strides in reducing leukaemia deaths.
After Lynn died Catherine and Charles decided to raise awareness of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research’s work and collect as many funds as they can.
