Dundee FC legend Bobby Glennie was involved in some close shaves during his time at the club, but none closer than this effort.
The ex-Dens Park stopper found himself defenceless when confronted by a determined hairdresser after he agreed to undergo a sponsored head shave at the High Corner Bar in Kinghorne Road on Thursday night.
Bobby decided to lose his locks in aid of a local paediatric diabetes charity and was delighted to raise about £500.
His son Kevin has diabetes and is partially-sighted.
It was a pal at work, Wayne Ross, who persuaded him to have his head shaved.
“Wayne has diabetes and his daughter, Kelsey, is just 12 years old and she’s also got it,” he said.
Wayne said that Kelsey’s dance club, Dance Generation, will be holding its annual DG Showcase at the Bonar Hall on October 15 and 16 through which it is hoped more money will be raised for the charity.
