A Perthshire venue is gearing up for its second major fund-raiser as it continues to gather money for Macmillan Cancer Care.
On October 30, indie-rock band The Vespas will perform an end of season concert at The Courtyard Restaurant at Mains of Taymouth, with all proceeds going to Macmillan.
The Vespas, who were formed in Coatbridge last year, have just returned from Paris where they have been supporting The Strokes.
Irena Menzies, of Mains of Taymouth, said, “We are absolutely delighted that The Vespas have kindly agreed to donate all the proceeds of this gig to our growing Macmillan fund.
“The concert will be an end of season highlight for locals and visitors to the area alike. We are continuing with our fund-raising efforts and gearing up for the Hogmanay grand prize draw, which is set to be quite an event.
“With £11,000 of prizes donated from a host of local businesses and individuals, it’s a real showcase for Highland Perthshire.”
The recent coffee morning on the estate part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning raised £2000, with the first of two prize draws also bringing in £600.
The second, larger draw, with prizes totalling more than £11,000, will be decided on Hogmanay. Tickets for The Vespas gig are available on the door.
