Two life friends are preparing to run from the Forth to the Tay to help those injured while fighting for the country.

Lee Ramsay (40), a builder from Ladybank, and Richie Hamilton (24), a Red Bull regional manager from Glenrothes, will cover 53 miles between the Forth Road Bridge and the Tay Bridge. They hope to finish the double marathon in nine hours.

The pair, who will undertake their challenge on May 29, want to raise cash for Help for Heroes. On the way they will stop off to refuel at points and would be delighted to meet any supporters.

After leaving the Forth Road Bridge at 8am they aim to be at Kinghorn High Street at 10.10am, Thornton High Street at 11.20am, the layby at New Inn at 12.30pm, Pitlessie at 1.30pm, Dairsie at 2.50pm and St Michaels at 3.50pm before reaching the finishing line at 5pm.
