Move over Lady Gaga and The X Factor the Radio Tay team are about to launch their Christmas number one bid.
Presenters and staff from Tay FM and Tay AM have joined forces to write and release a festive single.
Supporting the radio station’s charity, Cash For Kids, Christmas Time Again aims to bring back the fun factor with all proceeds going to underprivileged children in Tayside and north-east Fife.
Tay AM breakfast presenter and song co-writer Graeme Waggott said: ”The idea of writing a Christmas song that could bring festive cheer back into December’s top 40 really appealed to me.
”Friends Donnie Duncan and Irvine Murison agreed The X Factor could do with a run for its money, so we put pen to paper.”
He added: ”Everyone involved had a great time making this single and hopefully it will raise a lot of money for local kids in the run-up to Christmas.”
As with all great singles, there is a music video featuring presenters and staff at the radio station.
Cash For Kids assistant coordinator Alison Carr was one of the lucky ones in front of the camera for the video.
She said: ”I am quite chuffed with myself my old teacher said I would not achieve anything and here I am competing for the Christmas number one. Maybe Simon Cowell will end up offering me a contract!”
The single made its UK radio debut during a special breakfast show on Thursday.
It will be available for download as of Monday and a limited number of CDs will be on sale at Asda, Milton of Craigie, Dundee.
