‘Loyal staff’s’ allegations to be heard at next meeting of joint police board

Tayside Police Joint Police Board will debate allegations made against Chief Constable Justine Curran and Deputy Chief Constable Gordon Scobbie at Monday’s meeting of the board at Forfar.
Board convener Councillor Jimmy Black confirmed the news and said that the debate would be treated like any other matter regarding police officers.
That means it is likely the allegations and the resulting investigations will be heard in private. However, he added that a public statement on the issue would be made following the meeting.
The anonymous allegations came from a group calling themselves ”loyal staff” of Tayside Police and was said to be on behalf of officers and staff disgruntled with the chief constable and her deputy.
Mr Black also revealed similar letters had been sent to board members.
The Courier chose not to publish details of the allegations and passed a summary of them to Tayside Police for comment, which were then passed on to the board.
