New drug tests have caught three Tayside Police officers

Three officers have resigned from Tayside Police after testing positive for drugs.
The trio, including a special constable, were caught abusing illegal substances after the force introduced drug tests in March 2009.
They are among 27 officers to have given positive results as a result of 13,157 tests carried out by UK police forces over the past two years.
A spokesman for the force said, “Tayside Police will not tolerate the abuse of illegal drugs by officers or staff, whether in the workplace or elsewhere.
“It is imperative that all police officers and staff have professional integrity at all times and are deserving of the public’s trust.
“The overwhelming majority of our officers and staff are beyond reproach.
“It is wholly unacceptable for any Tayside Police employee to become involved with drugs in any form.
“Appropriate action is taken where evidence of such activities arise.”
