Mystery solved late-night helicopter was an RAF Chinook on training

The RAF has confirmed the helicopter that disturbed householders in Tayside and Fife late on Tuesday night was one of its Chinooks engaged in “essential night low flying training.”
The Chinook, from 18 Squadron at RAF Odiham in Hampshire, was heard after 11pm over the Tay estuary.
The noise of its twin rotor blades was reported by people in areas stretching from Carnoustie, throughout Dundee and across into north Fife and down to Lower Largo and Kirkcaldy.
