A fine art firm stopped off in Perth as it continues a nationwide “treasure hunt” in search of items for a Scottish sale in the summer.
Bonhams Scotland is the only international fine art auction house with a saleroom in Scotland and its August sale is keenly anticipated by thousands of collectors.
Last year’s top lots included a 17th century oak caqueteuse chair which, at £20,400, sold at more than £15,000 over estimate.
Meanwhile a second edition of the earliest book on golf made £25,800.
Managing director of Bonhams Scotland Miranda Grant said the high-profile tour of the nation never fails to turn up some hidden gems.
She said, “The annual Scottish sale is unique. It has a well deserved reputation with buyers as the place to find high-quality and interesting objects with a link to Scotland.”
This year’s sale will be held in Edinburgh from August 17 to 20.
