Forensic officers cordoned off a street in Kinross on Friday following an early-morning disturbance.
Police were called to Green Road shortly before 3pm, when they discovered that a 26-year-old man had suffered injuries to his back and leg. He was taken by ambulance to Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline, where he received treatment before being discharged.
The area where the incident took place was cordoned off to allow a full forensic examination to take place. Police officers also carried out door-to-door inquiries in the area in a bid to piece together the circumstances surrounding the disturbance.
Police said on Friday that a 42-year-old man had been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He is expected to appear from custody at Perth Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
