Rescue crews called to divers in difficulty near Bass Rock
ByNews reporter
Anstruther lifeboat was called in to help search for two divers who had failed to surface off the Bass Rock on Tuesday evening.
The alarm was raised when two divers, part of a group which regularly dives in the area, were reported adrift on the surface of the Forth 20 minutes later.
Dunbar, Anstruther and North Berwick lifeboats joined a helicopter from Bulmer to carry out a search for the men and found them fairly quickly.
A paramedic from the helicopter was winched down and the divers were assessed as being fit and well enough to be taken ashore by lifeboat.
They were taken ashore by the crew from Dunbar to North Berwick harbour where they were transferred to a waiting ambulance to head to hospital.
