A labourer has been found guilty of killing two young jockeys including Forfar teenager Jan Wilson by setting light to a block of flats in a drunken revenge attack.
In September Peter Brown (37) started a fire at Buckrose Court in Norton, North Yorkshire, which killed Jamie Kyne (18) from Kiltrogue, County Galway, Ireland, and Jan (19).
Leeds Crown Court heard that Brown, originally from Aberdeen, torched the complex after he was refused entry to a party in a flat.
On Thursday he was cleared by the jury of murder but was found guilty of manslaughter. For full coverage and local reaction see tomorrow’s Courier.
