Pint-sized superhero makes life easier for children at Ninewells Hospital
ByThe Courier Reporter
Christmas came early for patients at the Tayside Children’s Hospital as a six-year-old boy took on the role of Santa and delivered gifts in superhero style.
Euan Gray walked four and a half miles across the hills from his home in Newburgh to Dunbog Primary School and back to raise money for the play centre in Ward 29 at Ninewells.
Euan raised almost £900 from his walk and donated some of the money to charity Tayside Children with Cancer and Leukaemia, which bought a giant Connect Four game and two scooters.
Two electric cars were also bought for the children’s hospital, with Euan driving a Batmobile into Ward 30, providing much amusement for both staff and patients.
May Duncan, senior play specialist in Ward 29, said: “We are very grateful to Euan for delivering these generous gifts.”
Euan was accompanied by parents Ian and Lynne, younger brother Calum and his grandparents.
