A group of special constables have been officially sworn in to their duties with Tayside Police at a ceremony in Dundee.
The 14 recruits have completed their training and will now serve throughout the force area.
Each of the new special constables was sworn in at the police’s recruiting and training centre in Baluniefield.
Special constables work closely with their regular full-time colleagues, undertaking a wide variety of duties and are expected to attend any call a regular police officer attends.
Peter Dickemann, the force’s special constable coordinator, said: ”They are all volunteers. Some come and want to give something back to the community and others are looking to make police work a career.
”This gives them experience of that and lets us have a look at them also.”
