Performers from across Courier Country and beyond have flocked to Dundee to audition for the hit TV series the X Factor.
Musical hopefuls flocked to the city’s Wellgate Centre before singing in front of two judges.
The contenders were immediately told whether or not they had made it through to the next round, held at Murrayfield on April 27.
Large queues were reported from 8am despite auditions only starting at 10am before interest died down, only to pick up again throughout the afternoon.
Callum Brennet, 19, said he was delighted to have the chance to play.
“It is my first time auditioning, but I have done Britain’s Got Talent before. I am a little nervous as I have a cold but it is also very exciting to be here.”
The X Factor is a singing competition that has discovered stars such as Rebecca Ferguson, Leona Lewis and world famous boy band One Direction.
The eleventh series of the X Factor, which has also spawned a US spin-off, will see the return of Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole. It began in September 2004 and has aired annually since.
