Charity teams battle the elements at Dundee Relay for Life

Dundee’s Relay for Life was a major success at the weekend, despite heavy rain overnight, according to organisers.
Almost 300 volunteers battled the elements to take part in the 24-hour event, which raises tens of thousands of pounds for Cancer Research UK each year.
The relay, which took place at Caird Park, began at 1pm on Saturday with 19 teams making their way round the track throughout the night.Click here for a full photo galleryOrganiser Katheryne Torode said the event had been “brilliant”, with 75 people doing a half-marathon, 55 doing a full marathon and one person even doing a double marathon.
“The rain really came down on Saturday night, but everyone just put on their waterproofs and kept going,” she said.
The 280 people taking part have so far raised £18,462 for Cancer Research UK but organisers expect that figure could reach £30,000 as donations remain open until the end of September.
