A Peeping Tom has admitted spying on a female neighbour through a hole in her door.
At Dundee Sheriff Court, Robin Michie, 50, c/o Anderson at Clepington Road, pled guilty to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner by repeatedly peering into a private property at Bonnethill Court between October 7 and 11.
Depute fiscal Laura Bruce told the court the location was a block of flats and the owner of the flat Michie was looking into was a Polish woman with a young child.
She said: “She knew the accused as a neighbour who she had acknowledged in passing but she had never spoken to him.”
The victim returned home one day and discovered paint on the floor below her windows.
On another occasion she noticed a light shining on to the floor on her landing through a small hole.
Ms Bruce said: “She made her way to the door and looked through and saw the accused on the landing.
“She watched him peering into the flat for five minutes.
“She was very distressed and did not leave the flat until she heard him leave.
“This behaviour continued daily, which left her very alarmed.”
The court heard the woman bought a small digital video camera which she installed above the door.
She managed to record Michie visiting her door on a number of occasions, peering inside her home for several minutes each time.
On October 10 she contacted the police and showed them the footage she had captured and they took Michie in for questioning.
Although he initially denied the offence, when presented with the footage his victim had recorded, Michie’s defence agent said he was “at a loss to explain the strange behaviour”.
Sheriff George Way called for reports to be prepared on Michie.
Sentence was deferred until January 31.
