An Angus man has become the most famous Scot with a bucket since Oor Wullie.
Grant Thomson’s homemade Halloween costume appears to show him being carried in a bucket by a wolf and “things have gone crazy” after a video of him showing it off was viewed more than 7 million times.
Grant, from Newbigging, posted a video of his costume on his Facebook. It was made with bits of timber and screws from his work and he thought it might gain a “a few likes from friends.”
But within hours of being posted, the 37-year-old’s video had been shared by social media site Unilad and had received millions of likes.
Admitting that he was stunned by the reaction to his post, Grant said: “It’s all gone a bit nuts. I made the costume up with stuff from my work and had timber, screws, a bucket from B&Q and a pair of old overalls.
“I posted a video of me in the costume to Facebook and thought I’d get a few likes from my mates.
“But the next morning I got a call from my friend to say the video had been shared on Unilad and had received 24,000 likes in ten minutes.
“It was all meant as a bit of a fun, but I’ve now been more viewed more than seven million times. It’s amazing.”
Grant’s Halloween video is the second from this area to go viral online, after a six-year-old Broughty Ferry boy’s zombie impression went wild at the weekend.
