A Dundee dad has spoken of his mounting frustration as his family continues to be terrorised by a gang of youths.
The Gray family of Law Crescent have been repeatedly targeted over the last month, but claim the police appear unable to help.
The victims say the intimidating attacks, which have involved racist abuse and stone throwing, can last more than an hour.
Yobs last week stole a valuable bicycle from outside the family’s home.
Wayne Gray uses his £1,000 bike on charity rides and had left it outside his house on Monday evening following a training run.
Meanwhile, thousands of pounds of damage has been caused to cars in the street, with some residents saying they have to stay up into the night to keep the youths at bay.
Mr Gray said the police have proved to be of limited assistance, revealing he managed to get the stolen bike back himself.
“It’s a sheer fluke I got the bike back,” he said. “I was driving along and my daughter saw someone and said: ‘That’s your bike’.
“When I stopped him, the guy just dropped the bike and ran.
“It was more than a week before the police even came to me to speak about it.”
Despite getting his bike back and repeatedly getting the police involved even turning over video of some of the thugs to the authorities no-one has yet been arrested in connection with the disturbances.
Stones are regularly hurled at the house in Law Crescent, as well as others in the same street.
“It’s gone beyond a joke,” he said.
“We need police to be involved in the community, to be available and to work with us because they tell us they don’t have the time.
“My car is now dented again. We phoned the police on Monday night and they didn’t come.
“It’s deeply frustrating. We’re a hardworking, honest family and it isn’t right we’re being terrorised like this.”
A police spokeswoman said: “Tayside Division officers have been in contact with the individual concerned to discuss matters and enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible.
“Anyone caught committing crimes of vandalism or malicious damage will always be charged and reported to the procurator fiscal.”
Regarding an earlier incident, a spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland can confirm we are investigating an instance of vandalism of a blue BMW Z4 at an address in Law Crescent. We are looking to trace three males in connection with the incident, who were seen fleeing in the direction of Hill Street.
“One is described as around 15 years old, 5ft 7in, with brown-blonde hair and was wearing a tracksuit and hooded top.”
