A Monifieth lung cancer survivor presented a cheque for £11,800 to Dundee’s Maggie’s Centre and Ninewells Hospital, thanks in part to legendary football manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Laura Bennett, 51, organised a race night at the Monifieth Amateur Dramatic Hall. She said: “I was diagnosed last year and am now on a phased return to work. Sir Alex and my Dad are good friends so I wrote to him asking for a signed shirt to raffle and he gave us £5,000 and hospitality as a raffle prize. It’s amazing.”
