Scots Hydro engineers help restore power in England

Two hundred Scottish Hydro engineers travelled south to help restore power to English homes affected by storm damage.
The workers joined around 800 operational staff and contractors from the sister network Southern Electric Power Distribution (SEPD).
Engineers started work in the early hours of Monday morning to restore power to affected areas.
SEPD said around 82,000 homes were without power in its distribution area, from Yeovil in Somerset to west London and from Oxfordshire to the Isle of Wight.
A spokeswoman for parent company Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) said: “As the weather moved through the area, it has had the greatest impact on Dorset, Wiltshire and parts of rural Hampshire.”
A number of households were expected to remain without power overnight.
“Where possible, some customers will have their power restored through mobile generators,” the spokeswoman added.
SSE said calls were being made to vulnerable customers to give reassurance and help. Engineerswere working where it was safe.
Workers from SEPD came to Scotland earlier this year to help restore power supplies following the storms that battered Arran and Kintyre.
