Courier country will be showcased on BBC One tonight, as an episode of Silent Witness filmed in the area goes on air.
The two-part episode of the hit series, which follows a team of pathologists as they help solve crimes, was filmed in Dundee and on Glen Cova.
‘In a Lonely Place’ sees lead characters Nikki and Jack come to Courier Country to help earnest detective DS Jason Ross investigate the chilling murder of a lap dancer found in a remote forest.
The Silent Witness team spent 10 days in September filming in and around Dundee with the Tay Road Bridge being used in one scene and the show’s producer, Sharon Bloom, described the area as “a great place to shoot”.
However, she added that Dundee will not be named as the city in the episode itself, but rather it will be a fictional place.
A number of locals are also featuring in the episode as extras including David Mackaskill and his brother, who are playing members of a deer stalking party.
TayScreen, the multi-agency partnership which covers the local councils, was involved in attracting the production company to Dundee.
Part one of ‘In a Lonely Place’ will be broadcast on Thursday, at 9pm.
