Dundee Swimarathon: Brae Riding for the Disabled one of many charities hoping to benefit

You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it swim, so volunteers from a Dundee charity have decided to take a splash themselves.
Around 50 groups are expected to take to the waters of the Olympia swimming pool on Sunday afternoon in an attempt to raise money for local good causes.
This year is the second year the Dundee Swimarathon has been organised by the Rotary Club, and the Brae Riding for the Disabled is just one of the good causes taking part.
Centre manager Mary Sneddon said: “We have six swimmers taking part, headed up by staff member Duncan Sangster, the Brae physiotherapist, with one rider and four volunteers making up the team.”
Clive Murray, chairman of the event organising committee, said: “The Swimarathon is a great opportunity for charities, youth organisations, sports teams and swimming clubs to raise funds.”
Teams donate 80% of what they raise for the charity or organisation of their choice, with the remaining 20% being donated to the Rotary International End Polio Now campaign to help eradicate polio throughout the world.
