VIDEO: Stunning footage pays tribute to Montrose lifeboat’s lifesaving service

HM Coastguard has released dramatic footage of a lifeboat at the end of her service.

Montrose RNLI received Scotland’s first in a line of revolutionary lifeboats, the RNLB Ian Grant Smith, in August.

The Shannon-class vessel replaced the RNLB Moonbeam following 26 years on operational duty.

The coastguard had been filming a recruitment video at Dunnottar Castle in the Mearns, and took the opportunity to “capture her in all her glory” along with the D-class Nigel A Kennedy.

The drone footage was produced by Mark Westguard.
