Former Scotland rugby captain Andy Nicol visited Ninewells Hospital to meet patients on the children’s surgical award.
The former British Lion spoke to a number of brave youngsters ahead of a fundraising event in May.
He will be one of the special guests, alongside former footballer Alan McInally, at a sports challenge dinner in aid of the ARCHIE Tayside Children’s Hospital Appeal and Children’s Aid.
It takes place on Thursday May 7 at the Apex Hotel in Dundee and has been organised by Thornton’s Investments.
The ARCHIE appeal is attempting to raise £2 million to help deliver a children’s operating theatre suite at Tayside Children’s Hospital.
The £6m facility has already secured £4m of NHS Tayside funding, which will pay for the initial construction, equipment and staff.
It will include two paediatric operating theatres and provide a welcoming environment for sick youngsters and their families.
