A filly that just “oozed the wow factor” swept to the top of the in-hand supreme horse contest in the main ring at Fife Show.
Granted passage to the overall as champion of the in-hand hunter section, three-year-old filly Euro Jazz was the top selection of supreme judge Ronnie Black, of Newton of Collessie, Ladybank.
“She is a beautifully balanced animal,” he said.
“She really had oozed the wow factor on first impressions when she came into the arena.”
Euro Jazz, owned and home-bred by Laura Rearie, and shown by Ashley Honeyman, previously stood reserve overall hunter at Perth Show and had been reserve hunter in-hand champion at Fife last year.
Drawing the open Mountain and Moorland in-hand champion Friarly Red Rose, from the Raithhill Stud forward to stand as reserve supreme, Mr Black said: “She also offered plenty of presence.
“She’s a smart little yoke, and a very good mover.”
This four-year-old mare, owned by Lynn Tait and shown by Aky Drysdale, had earlier been the top choice of M&M in-hand judge Marguerite Osborne, from Kinclune.
“She’s a very nice mare, with a wonderful movement. She trotted out very well and has an exceptionally pretty head,” Mrs Osborne said.
Awarding Red Rose with the native pony and horse championship, Mr Black also drew Shetland champion Wells Masterclass, from HP Sleigh, into reserve.
