‘We could have been killed’ wrong-way Kingsway driver terror for man and pregnant wife
ByGraeme Ogston
A driver with his heavily pregnant wife in the front passenger seat said they “could easily have been killed” after narrowly avoiding a speeding car with no lights driving the wrong way down the Kingsway.
The man, who did not want to be named, was travelling along the eastbound dual carriageway shortly after 8.30pm when he saw the other car approach them.
The driver said: “I was driving back from the midwifery unit at Ninewellswith my heavily pregnant wife in the front seat.
“We were just coming up to the junction that takes you off to Camperdown whenthe car in front swerved into our lane ahead of us.
“The next second a car with no lights on comes flying down the fast lane towards us on our side of the road.
“I kept us away from them and looked in the mirror to see if they had crashed, but I couldn’t see what happened.
“I pulled off at the next roundabout for Kingsway West Retail Park and my wife called 999.
“We could easily have been killed if we were in the other lane. It all seemed to happen in the blink of an eye.”
A Police Scotland spokesman said a man was assisting with inquiries.
